Membership Procedure

  • The institution provides bar-coded dual card to all its users and the same is valid both as college ID card as well as library ID card through which library resources can be borrowed as per their privileges mentioned below.
  • All teaching and non-teaching staff should submit a copy of appointment letter to the librarian to avail library membership.
  • Undergraduate students are entitled to borrow 03 books and Postgraduate students can borrow 04 books for the duration of 15 days.
  • Teaching staff can borrow a maximum of 06 books.

Circulation Rules

  • Users should produce the library card at the time of borrowing the books without fail and no books will be issued without the ID card.
  • The readers should check the book thoroughly for any missing pages, pictures etc., before borrowing the book.
  • Borrowers are responsible for the books issued on that card, so it is requested not to lend his/her card to others
  • Reference resources such as text books, journals, CD’s and DVD’s can be issued with the permission of the librarian for overnight only after 3.30 PM and has to be returned the next morning without fail.
  • No book in damaged condition will be accepted from the reader. Mutilated or spoiled books will have to be replaced by the borrower.
  • Loss of book must be reported in writing to the librarian by filling “Book Loss” form available in the library.
  • If a book is lost, the users should replace it with a new book or pay three times the cost of the book along with the overdue charges if any.
  • The borrowing facility of the users will be withdrawn if he/she is found taking the library material without getting it issued or by mistake.
  • The librarian reserves the right to recall the borrowed document before the due date if it is urgently required in the library. Failure to respond may lead to suspension of library privileges.

Library Fine and NOC

  • Borrowers are requested to return the books on or before the date specified, failing which a fine of Rs. 1/- per day will be charged for each book/document for the first ten days and Rs. 5/- per day will be charged after ten days. NOC will be issued to all the students of the institution at the end of even semesters, on return of all documents borrowed from library.
  • Library fine if any have to be deposited in the accounts section of the institution at the time of collecting No Objection Certificate from the library.
  • Students / Staff leaving the institution or on long leave should obtain NOC from the library by returning all the documents borrowed from the library.

Internet / Computer Usage Rules

  • Computers should be used only for educational purpose. No playing games, downloading music etc.
  • Do not install or uninstall any software in library computers.
  • If any of the computers are not working report the same at the reference desk or the librarian. Do not try to fix it.
  • Personal laptops are allowed inside the library on the condition that they will not disturb the connections of the library’s desktop computers for recharging the laptops. Plug points are provided in both the floors of library and the users should make use of the same for charging the laptops.

Book Donation

  • Library accepts donated books if it suits the library’s collection development policy.
  • Damaged books, books with missing pages and Xerox copies of books are not accepted.
  • All donations to the library should be accompanied with “Book Donation Form” available in the library and the same will be duly acknowledged.

General Instruction

  • Identity card should be shown at the checkpoint and all library users should compulsorily sign in the gate register kept at the checkpoint while entering the library.
  • Never bring your belongings inside the library or leave them unattended near the library.
  • Deposit your bags, handbags and other personal belongings in the cloak room next to the library and collect the token from the security without fail.
  • No valuable belongings such as mobile phones, handbags, purses should be kept in the cloak room and the library authority is not responsible for any loss / damage of such things and you do so at your own risk.
  • Use of mobile phones inside the library is strictly prohibited. If any student is found using the mobile phones inside the library, the same will be confiscated.
  • Keep the library clean and use dustbins provided in the reading area.
  • Show the documents, which are being taken out of the library to the staff for inspection at the library exit.
  • Users should dress decently and maintain silence in the library.
  • We encourage suggestions from users regarding library facilities and services so as to improve the library.
